Whatever happened to Ebay's website as a one stop site for auctioning off auctioning advertising ads. Back in 2006, we heard that several major advertisers were teaming up with Ebay to sell television advertising in an electronic marketplace. We then heard that many cable companies had dropped out and thus the project was on hold. However we then were told back in 2007 that the Oxygen channel and some others were still on board. However know we are left in the dark as to the viability of this project and if it is still in the works.
Speaking of which, what is taking so long for Skype's click to call advertising technology and why hasn't Ebay advertised Skype in the US. No one hear know about Skype. Ten out of ten people in Europe & Asia when asked are familiar with Skype. I have even asked a couple from as far away as Africa and they are familiar with Skype. However if you ask 30 people in the U.S. about Skype only 1 out of 30 people have every heard of the company. Message to Ebay: You spent 3.1 billion on Skype a little extra advertising in the U.S. can't hurt.
